SOLSTICE SAFFRON

AWARDS: 2017 Glintcap (Gold), 2014 & 2015 Glintcap (Bronze)

STYLE: Botanical Craft Cider

CLARITY & COLOR: Warm sunshine

AROMA & FLAVOR: Featuring saffron grown

by Golden Tradition Saffron in North Plains, OR this cider leads

with a gentle earthiness that's balanced with the rounded flavors

of anise and fennel. It finishes with a light lingering licorice note.

APPLE VARIETIES: Fermented on the farm with a select blend of

Certified Organic Washington apples, such as Granny Smith,

Pink Lady, Braeburn and Gala.

CIDERMAKER NOTES: We crafted this cider around the time of

the Winter Solstice with certified organic apples, saffron, organic

anise pods, and delicately steeped toasted fennel. Solstice

Saffron features saffron grown by Golden Tradition Saffron in

North Plains, Oregon. To parallel the preciousness of what is

considered to be a rare and coveted spice, this cider highlights

saffron grown in the Pacific Northwest - a rarity in itself!

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve chilled in a white wine glass or

as you wish. Pair this cider with minty rice, sushi, summer salads

with edible flowers or lightly braised vegetables, or with a range

of Indian or Mediterranean foods. Make a Solstice Saffron

granita!
